About Us
Chris and his two brothers grew up in Franklin, Ohio where their parents were both teachers. While attending The Ohio State University in 1994, Chris decided to start his own business in order to help pay for his undergraduate degree in political science as well as his law degree. With previous experience in the painting industry, he got a small loan from his dad, Mike Cox (MC), and started MC Painting. After graduating, Chris decided to defer practicing law and decided to continue to grow and improve his small business into a leading painting company in the Columbus market.
Chris’s responsibilities include the estimating, quality control, sales, and marketing. Chris’s years of experience allow him to dedicate himself to explaining the painting process to customers while providing a competitive price for our services.
Chris has 3 children. Alex, 18, a Freshman at Indiana University, plays basketball and runs Cross Country and Track. Alex is in the National Honor Society and gets straight A’s. Christopher, 15, is in 9th grade at Westerville South High School. Christopher is in the National Junior Honor Society, gets straight A’s and is on the Worthington Swim Club. Clara, 10, is in 5th grade at Annehurst Elementary and rides horses weekly. Chris is currently a member of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. He also plays in the Columbus Men’s Senior Baseball League and coaches his sons’ basketball leagues.
Amy grew up in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She attended Neumann College and Ashland University and graduated with degrees in Nursing and Elementary Education respectively. After college, she worked for a family practice in Wilmington, DE where she was an office manager. She moved to Ohio in 2007 and worked for a medical management company. Most recently she worked for an orthopedic practice. From her previous experience, she brings a focus on customer service, communication and business professionalism to MC Painting.
Amy’s primary responsibilities include office and crew management, customer care, marketing and sales.
Amy has 3 boys and 2 fur babies, Rocky and Nova. Nate, 16, is a Junior at Olentangy Orange High School, runs track and plays clarinet in the band. Devin, 13, is in 8th grade at Olentangy Orange Middle School, plays soccer, gets straight A’s and plays percussion in the band. Her youngest, Zachary, 10, is in 5th grade at Olentangy Meadows Elementary school and plays soccer and baseball. Amy is the co-leader of her son Zachary’s Cub Scout troop, co-leader of the Olentangy Meadows Brownie Troop, coach of Zachary’s baseball team, and is a member of the Columbus Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi.
